By synthesizing the macro-geographic characteristics of the Indonesian Archipelago with micro-biological metaphors of cellular and neural systems, the design not only resonates with the regional context but also proposes an organic, evolvable paradigm for educational architecture.
The campus departs from the conventional "mega-structure," manifesting instead as an "archipelago" of discrete functional units. This approach achieves morphological isomorphism by miniaturizing "islands" into "cells." Within this framework, circulation transcends mere transit; it functions as "neural synapses." Just as neurons transmit signals across synapses, the campus facilitates the flow of "knowledge and information" through its interconnected corridors.
Central to this network is The Central Social Axis—a multifunctional "spine" designed to accommodate shifting scenarios, integrating libraries, cafés, maker spaces, and exhibition areas.
Under this logic, pedagogy is no longer confined to the classroom. Through the "synaptic" network and the central axis, the entire campus—encompassing corridors, gardens, and galleries—is transformed into an informal learning landscape. The school is thus redefined: not as a static container, but as a dynamic organism capable of adapting to future pedagogical shifts. It is a journey of dialogue with nature, aiming to conceive a micro-scaled, self-sustaining, and highly resilient knowledge community.
